IN-SLN DIVEX 2026 Strengthens India-Sri Lanka Maritime Partnership

Between April 21 and 28, 2026, India and Sri Lanka conducted the fourth edition of their joint diving exercise called IN-SLN DIVEX 2026 in Colombo. The exercise aimed to improve naval cooperation by focusing on underwater missions, rescue operations, and securing the Indian Ocean region.

Mixed gas dives took place over historic shipwrecks from World War times near Colombo, such as the SS Worcester and SS Perseus. These challenging sites helped divers improve their technical abilities in difficult underwater conditions.

Humanitarian Aid and Regional Collaboration

Under the Aarogya Maitri program, India donated two BHISM cubes to Sri Lanka to support disaster response and medical readiness. The exercise also included joint activities like beach cleaning, sports, and yoga to build trust and friendship.
