Counting of votes for the assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and the Union Territory of Puducherry will begin tomorrow morning at 8 am. Postal ballots will be counted first, followed by Electronic Voting Machines starting at 8:30 am, with early trends expected by noon.
The Election Commission has arranged robust security across all counting centers to ensure a smooth process.
Voting Dates and Seat Distribution
Polling took place on April 9 for all 126 seats in Assam, 140 seats in Kerala, and 30 seats in Puducherry. Tamil Nadu and the first phase of West Bengal voting were held on April 23, covering 234 and 152 seats respectively. The second phase in West Bengal occurred on April 29 for 142 constituencies.
Counting Centers and Candidate Numbers
West Bengal will conduct counting at 77 centers across the state, while Assam will decide the fate of 722 candidates. Kerala has implemented strict security protocols for the counting process. Tamil Nadu’s election features a competitive race primarily between the ruling DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance and the opposition AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance. Puducherry has set up six counting centers for its 294 candidates.
