The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) in Tamil Nadu has opened registration for the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026. Prospective students seeking admission to BTech programs at government and government-aided colleges across the state can apply online starting today.

Applicants must complete their registration by June 2, with the deadline to upload required documents set for June 6. The registration fee is Rs 250 for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates and Rs 500 for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates.

Engineering Seats and Counselling Process

Approximately 200,000 engineering seats are available across more than 400 colleges affiliated with Anna University in Tamil Nadu. The seats will be allocated through an online counselling system managed by DoTE under a single-window process.

Important Dates and Procedures

The certificate verification phase will take place from June 8 to June 20. Following this, the rank list for admissions will be published on June 29. Candidates are required to upload their certificates for verification, and any discrepancies must be addressed via their registered mobile numbers and email IDs.

Applicants will have the opportunity to raise grievances related to the TNEA process between June 30 and July 4.

Support for Applicants

To assist candidates during registration, DoTE has set up an integrated call center reachable at the toll-free number 1800 425 0110 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Queries can also be sent via email to tneacare@gmail.com.

Last year, over 400 colleges participated in the TNEA counselling, offering a total of 254,585 engineering seats.
