Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the North Tech Symposium in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday. The three-day event, themed ‘Raksha Triveni Sangam – Where Technology, Industry & Soldiering Converge,’ brings together the Indian Army’s Northern and Central Commands along with the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM).

The symposium aims to highlight and integrate cutting-edge indigenous defence technologies to address operational challenges faced by the Indian Army. It features participation from more than 280 companies, including micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), private defence technology firms, start-ups, and innovators in uniform from across the country.

Showcasing Innovation and Collaboration

The event provides a platform for defence forces, industry leaders, scientists, and the academic community to collaborate on advancing national security and technological excellence. Exhibitors are presenting their latest innovations with a focus on technologies suitable for field deployment and maintenance processes.

Organizers aim to streamline procurement procedures to foster a sustainable and self-reliant defence ecosystem. The symposium also supports the Indian Army’s efforts to promote indigenous development and reduce dependency on foreign technology.

Security and Event Details

Security arrangements in Prayagraj have been intensified for the duration of the symposium, with the Arail riverfront designated as a high-security zone. The event will continue through Wednesday, concluding on May 6, 2026.
