Jharkhand Private Schools Change Timings Due to Heatwave Warning

Introduction

The Meteorological Department has warned that temperatures in North India could reach 44 degrees Celsius next week, with heatwave conditions worsening. Because of this, private schools in Jharkhand are changing their schedules to keep students safe from the extreme heat.

Starting Monday, all private schools affiliated with the Unaided Schools Association will begin classes at 6:45 AM and finish by 11:30 AM. The usual afternoon session will be removed. This change helps students get home before the sun is strongest, reducing their exposure to the heat.

Benefits of Early School Hours

Moving school hours to the early morning is based on the idea that children learn better when it is cooler. Sharath Chandran, Vice President of the Unaided Schools Association, said the main reason for this change is student safety. He explained that high temperatures can cause dehydration, especially when children travel home, so it is important to protect them from the heat.

The association talked with all private schools about this plan, and most agreed with it. The new schedule is expected to help students learn better and stay safe.

Effective Communication with Parents

To keep parents informed about the new timings, schools sent messages through phones, portals, and SMS starting Saturday. This helps parents adjust to the new schedule and drop off their children on time.

Parents are also advised to watch carefully during pickup times as the heat rises. They should make sure children drink enough water and stay protected from the sun.

Health Recommendations from Doctors

The new school hours will stay in place until the weather gets cooler. The Unaided Schools Association will keep checking the temperature and update the plan if needed. This change is temporary, and schools will work with local officials to handle any problems.

If temperatures go higher than expected, more steps might be taken to keep students safe.

With the heatwave posing a serious risk, Jharkhand’s private schools are acting early to protect students. By starting school early, they aim to provide a safer learning environment and reduce health risks from the heat.
