To manage the process well, CBSE has divided the LOC submission into phases. Schools must follow the timeline carefully. No corrections or extensions will be allowed after the deadline. The schedule is:

  • Phase 1: Submission with fee payment from April 16 to April 20, 2026
  • Phase 2: Completion of submissions and payments within the same timeline
  • Final Window: Late fee payment allowed from April 21 to April 22, 2026

CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam 2026 Eligibility and Guidelines

CBSE has set clear rules for students taking the second board exam. Students who passed the main Class 10 exam can apply to improve marks in up to three subjects, such as Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and Languages. Important points include:

  • About 1,47,172 students are in the compartment category
  • Compartment students will stay in the same category
  • Students in the Essential Repeat category cannot apply
  • Children With Special Needs (CWSN) will continue to get support if already registered
  • Sports category students need prior approval to appear

CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam 2026 Fee Structure and Payment Mode

The board has fixed the fees for the second board exam. Payments must be done within the submission period. Payment methods are online only, including debit card, credit card, NEFT, RTGS, UPI, or net banking. Offline payments are not accepted. Fees are:

  • INR 320 per subject for students in India and Nepal
  • INR 1100 per subject for students outside India
  • Late fee of INR 2000 applies during the final window

CBSE Class 10 Second Board Exam 2026 Important Instructions for Students

The exam will follow the same syllabus as the main 2026 board exams. Once the LOC is submitted, no changes are allowed. If a student registers but does not appear, the main exam result will be final. Schools should check all details carefully before submitting to avoid errors.
